Maharshi Dayanad University was started in Rohtak, Haryana in the year 1975 as Rohtak University. In 1977, it was renamed ass Maharshi Dayanand University. The objective of the university was to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences.

Maharshi Dayanand University established a Correspondence Cell in 1988 to provide corresponding courses leading to the award of B.Ed. degree. With the passage of time and improvement of technology, the university added more courses and the Correspondence Cell became the Directorate of Distance Education, Maharshi Dayanand University.

ADMISSIONS

• Admissions to the various courses offered at the beginning of every academic year.
• The candidates who are interested in can apply online here
• The candidates are advised to read the information brochure and the official site before filling up the online application and follow the instructions correctly.
• Candidate can apply online by following the instructions:
• The candidates should first login on the official website and note down their username and password.
• The candidates are required to read all the instructions given and fill the application form accordingly.
• Scanned copy of their Photograph (JPG/JPEG format size 50KB), Signature (JPG/JPEG format size 30KB), thumb impression (JPG/JPEG format size 50k) should be uploaded.
• Necessary documents like Matriculation, Senior Secondary, Degree etc., should be uploaded if asked.
• The candidates can pay the fee via e-challan in any branch of Punjab National Bank or Axis Bank.

After filling the online application, the student should print it out and attach it with the necessary documents required by the DDE and send it to the DDE, Maharshi Dayanand University before the deadline. If the deadline is not met then either the admission is cancelled or a late fee will be charged.

Completed online admission form, printed and signed by the candidate, attested copy of the marks card of the previous qualification, proof of fees paid and ID card and photographs should all be attached and sent to the DDE before the deadline.

• The DDE will reject incomplete applications. If the candidates do not enclose any one of the documents requested by the DDE, then the application will be rejected.

FEE STRUCTURE

• The fee structure varies for different courses and duration of the course.
• Some Fee concession is allowed for some groups upon submission of associated documents of proof.
• Each course has a specific fee structure for tuition and other extra fees.

• The prescribed fees are to be remitted to the Funds of Mangalore University in anyone of the branches of Punjab National Bank or Axis Bank, through e-CHALLANS

Course Fee

• Information about other fees that have to be paid is given in the Information Brochure.
• Each student admitted to a course offered by the DDE will be provided study material. The students may also consult books prescribed/recommended at the end of the relevant syllabi to enlarge scope of learning. The study material will be supplied in Hindi or English medium for the courses as available with the Directorate/University.

SCHOLARSHIPS

50% scholarship on the total fee payable is made available to the following groups of students:

1. The employees of the University itself or their children or spouse.
2. Working defence personnel who do not already receive a scholarship from their employers.
3. SC/ST of Haryana only.

EXAMINATIONS

• The annual examination is tentatively held every year in the months of April (UG Courses) and May (PG Courses)
• The scheme of the examination can be found in the Information Brochure.
• The examination fee can be paid to the University through online mode
• The roll number/admit cards will be available on the website, 10 days before the exam.
