The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) established in the year 1985 has become one of the top institutions in providing top distance and open education to its students. It started with only two programmes Diploma in Management and Diploma in Distance Education, with a strength of 4,528 students. But today it has spread all over the country and across 21 schools, 67 regional centres and over 3 million students.

The minimum duration to complete BBA from IGNOU is 3 years and the maximum duration is 6 years.

Application Procedure for IGNOU BBA

The application procedure and the admission process for the IGNOU are as follows:

Step 1: Go to the official website of the IGNOU. See: http://www.ignou.ac.in/

Step 2: Click on Register Online and scroll down and click on Fresh Admission. This will take you to the following portal: https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/

Step 3: Click on New Registration. Register yourself by giving out all the details asked in the form like the name, phone number, email id, etc.

Step 4: After submitting that, soon the username will be sent to the candidate’s registered phone number. Login through the username and password.

Step 5: Fill out the online application form and upload all the required documents and such include the following:

• Scanned Photograph
• Scanned Signature
• Scanned copy of Age Proof
• Scanned copy of relevant Educational Qualification
• Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any)
• Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, (if any) (SC/ST/OBC)
• Scanned Copy of BPL Certificate, (if Below Poverty Line)

Step 6: Pay the registration fee of Rs. 300 through Net Banking/Credit card/ Debit Card.

Step 7: The college will review the application sent by the candidate and give a date for the interview round. Admissions are made either directly or through sponsored method.

Step 8: Candidates need to sit for an interview round before the University where they are questioned upon the following:

• Appearance
• Ability to communicate
• Attitude
• Mental Alertness
• General Awareness
• Each of these carries a maximum of 10 marks

Step 9: If the candidates scores at least 25 out of 50 which is the minimum criteria for selection they will be selected. After payment of the required fees the candidates are given admission to IGNOU.

IGNOU BBA Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for taking admission for BBA at IGNOU are as follows:

Direct Admission:

• Candidates for direct admission must have a 10+2 qualification or an equivalent from a recognised board.
• As per government of India rule, reservation of seats is provided to the eligible candidates.
• Final selection will be based on the interview conducted by the University where the candidate has to score at least 25 out of 50.

Sponsored Admission

• Candidates can also take admission through Sponsored Admission where the qualification is similar to direct admission i.e., having 10+2 qualification or an equivalent. A sponsor from the Retail Organisation can choose a candidate for studying BBA in retail management, only if he has this qualification.
• If selected, the candidate will need to submit the fee through a demand draft in favour of IGNOU which is payable at New Delhi.

In case of BBA in Service management in addition to the basic qualification of 10+2, will require to have an experience as an Apprentice or full-time intern or employee.

IGNOU BBA Fees Structure 2023-23

The total fee for IGNOU BBA in 2023024 varies from Rs.30,000 to 60,000 for the entire course depending on the specialization chosen.

Scholarships and Fee Waiver

Candidates who fall under a few categories are eligible for scholarship opportunities given by the University and such are as follows:

• Candidates are eligible for applying for scholarships under the Government of India by visiting National Scholarship Portal.
• Candidates belonging from SC/ST category can apply for the scholarship opportunity given to them by the government of India. Under this category, candidates are exempted to pay their programme fee. But if the candidate is employed or availing fellowship from somewhere else or family’s income is more than Rs. 2.5 LPA then they won’t be eligible for this scholarship.
• Candidates who are Jail inmates can have their programme fee fully exempted including the registration fee.

Online BBA

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must follow the following eligibility criteria to get admitted for the online BBA course at IGNOU:

• Candidates must have a 10+2 qualification or an equivalent from a recognised board.
• There is no upper age limit for apply for an online programme and thus candidates can avail to this programme at any point of their life.

Fees Structure

The amount required to complete an online BBA degree from the IGNOU is Rs. 27,200 for BBA in retail management and Rs. 30,000 for BBA in service management. The amount can be paid semester by semester but on time else an extra amount will be charged to the candidates.
