Established in the year 2001 under Section 3 of the UGC Act by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Vinayaka Mission’s University, Salem has over 54 distance education programmes across 6 schools. The high academic standards and infrastructure of the university has attracted more than 15000 students till date.
Admission and Application Procedure
The application procedure to the university is as follows:
Applicants must obtain the prospectus and application form
(i) In person from the university or any of the study centres
(ii) By post from the Corporate Office (Vinayaka Missions University, No.213 (Old No.160), Behind Doshi Tower, Poonamallee High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 600 010, Tamil Nadu) or the University Office(The Registrar, Vinayaka Missions University, Sankari Main Road (NH-47), Ariyanoor, Salem – 636 308, Tamil Nadu)
(iii) Online from the official website (link given below)
After receiving the application pack (consisting of the Application Form, Instruction material, University / Institutional Brochure, Blank Admit Card, Acknowledgement Card and Envelope), the required forms need to be filled out
- For (i) and (iii), the completed application form with required enclosures must be submitted in-person at the university/study centre with the required fees.

The form must also be accompanied with the required course fees as a Demand Draft in favour of the Director, VMU-DDE payable at Salem, Tamil Nadu.
- If the applicant fulfils the eligibility criteria, he/she will be sent Admit Card for the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the university
- Candidates who qualify the CEE cut-off mark will be invited for counselling and allotted seats according to the intake capacity.
About the CEE: The CEE will consist of objective questions from the qualifying exam (10th/12th/Bachelor-level). Negative marks are applicable for admission to the post-graduate programmes. Candidates are ranked according to the CEE before counselling.
