Vinayaka Mission�s University (VMU DDE) Distance Education Admissions 2024, Fee Structure, Eligibility

Established in the year 2001 under Section 3 of the UGC Act by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Vinayaka Mission’s University, Salem has over 54 distance education programmes across 6 schools. The high academic standards and infrastructure of the university has attracted more than 15000 students till date.

Admission and Application Procedure

The application procedure to the university is as follows:

Applicants must obtain the prospectus and application form

(i) In person from the university or any of the study centres

(ii) By post from the Corporate Office (Vinayaka Missions University, No.213 (Old No.160), Behind Doshi Tower, Poonamallee High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 600 010, Tamil Nadu) or the University Office(The Registrar, Vinayaka Missions University, Sankari Main Road (NH-47), Ariyanoor, Salem – 636 308, Tamil Nadu)

(iii) Online from the official website (link given below)

After receiving the application pack (consisting of the Application Form, Instruction material, University / Institutional Brochure, Blank Admit Card, Acknowledgement Card and Envelope), the required forms need to be filled out

1. For (i) and (iii), the completed application form with required enclosures must be submitted in-person at the university/study centre with the required fees.

The form must also be accompanied with the required course fees as a Demand Draft in favour of the Director, VMU-DDE payable at Salem, Tamil Nadu.

1. If the applicant fulfils the eligibility criteria, he/she will be sent Admit Card for the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the university
2. Candidates who qualify the CEE cut-off mark will be invited for counselling and allotted seats according to the intake capacity.

About the CEE: The CEE will consist of objective questions from the qualifying exam (10^th/12^th/Bachelor-level). Negative marks are applicable for admission to the post-graduate programmes. Candidates are ranked according to the CEE before counselling.

Supporting Documents: The following documents as photocopies need to be enclosed with the application form for submission –

(i) Marksheets of 10^th /12^th Grade or equivalent

(ii) Birth Certificate

(iii) Passport-sized photograph

(iv) Caste/PwD certificate

(v) Other documents relevant to the course as given in the prospectus.

Date of Notification: Notification of admission to the distance education programmes appear in March or April every year.

Fee Structure

Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria are taken into consideration to determine eligibility to appear for the CEE examination:

1. Age
2. Marks from the qualifying examination
3. Qualifying academic programme (See table below)

Age Criteria: As per government regulations

Reservation: Of the total number of seats available in the university under the Directorate of Distance Education, 27%, 15% and 8% and reserved for OBC, SC and ST candidates respectively.
