Andhra University (AU) is a public state university established in 1926 and is the first university in the country to get ISO 9001: 2000 Certification in 2006. It is located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The distance education arm of the institute, School of Distance Education, Andhra University, was established in 1972 with a vision to extend the reach of higher education in various parts of Andhra Pradesh. The institute has over the years evolved and today has a number of facilities.

The distance MBA by Andhra University is one of the most popular courses offered by the institute.

Admission Procedure

For admission, students can apply both through online and offline mode.

Online Procedure

To apply online, go to official website and download the application form and fill it up and submit it online.

Candidates Need to upload scanned copies of following documents –

• Recent passport size photo
• signature
• Attested copy of qualifying exam
• Date of birth certificate
• Caste certificate in case of SC/ST students
• Marksheet of 10th / SSC
• Marksheet of 12th / HSC
• Aadhaar card
• Service Certificate if applicable

Offline Procedure

To apply offline, download the application form from the portal. The prospectus and application form can also be collected on payment of Rs.100 (Rs.150 by post) from the study center.

Fill up the application form and submit it with appropriate documents. If the application form is downloaded from the university website, candidates need to include admission fee of Rs.100 along with the course fee.

Application form along with required documents should be sent to ” Director, School of Distance Education, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam – 530 003″. Required documents should be included with the application form.

For international students, they have to contact the international student cell present at every study center or visit the official website get more details about the admission.

Entrance Test

For admission, there will an entrance exam at the university or study center to ensure that the students of high merit are admitted according to the reservation policy. The entrance test is applicable to BA/BCom/MBA/MCA courses.

Spot Admissions

University conducts spot admission at study centers. Students should visit the study center with filled in application form and all other documents. Originals will be verified on the spot and will be returned to the candidate immediately.

Application Fee

First year tuition fee should be paid at the time of submission of application form. Fees can be paid by Demand draft/ SDE Challan drawn in the favor of “The Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam” on or before the last date as specified in the examination notification.

Documents Required

The documents that needed to be submitted during counselling are:

• Original counseling letter along with photocopy of counseling letter
• Original Admit card along with photocopy of admit card
• Bank draft has to be drawn in favor of The Director, School of Distance Education, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam – 530 003.
• All the original and at least 2 photocopies of certificates of 10th & 12th class
• Admit card
• Score card (if applicable)
• Original degree/provisional certificate if candidate is appearing
• Caste certificate(SC/ST/OBC/Other) signed by the authorized authority
• Medical documents (if applicable)
• 4 Passport size photographs color and black and white.
• Government identity proof

NOTE:

• For SC/ST or minority or PHC students, the application fee is Rs 500
• Total fee must be paid at the beginning of Course. Fee once paid will not be refunded.
• All the remittances to the School of Distance Education should be made through a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, payable at Visakhapatnam from any Nationalized Bank payable or by paying cash directly at the Syndicate Bank in the premises of School of Distance Education, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
• The name of the candidate, code number if already allotted and the purpose of the remittance should be clearly mentioned in the covering letter along with the Demand Draft.

Andhra University Fee structure

Andhra University Scholarship

Andhra University doesn’t provide any scholarships to it students but government of Andhra Pradesh provides scholarships to SC/ST students, students belonging to minorities, top ranking students, single girl child, etc. Following students are eligible for scholarship –

1. SC/ST students whose parent’s income is less than or equal to Rs.2,50,000/- rupees
2. Students who got admission into a college in Technical/Professional courses on the basis of competitive examination.
3. Students who got admission without facing any competitive examination but should have got not less than 50% marks at Higher secondary (Inter)/Graduation level.
4. 30% of Scholarships will be earmarked for Girl students. In case sufficient numbers of eligible girl students are not available, then the balance scholarships may be awarded to eligible boy students.
5. The Students who are permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh, but studying other States are also eligible.
6. Students who are studying in top listed institutions of Govt. Of India are eligible for full courses fee and they are also given first priority in selection.
7. Students who are studying in institutions other than top listed institutions are eligible for course fee of Rs.20,000/- per annum or actual fees whichever is less.
8. The Scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other Govt. Scholarship or stipend.
9. Students who got Admission in other then Category ‘A’ convener quota can also apply.
10. The PG GATE qualified students are given UGC/AICTE fellowships.

Eligibility Criteria

For admissions into under-graduate (UG) or diploma programs

Candidate must have 10+2 from reputed board or university.

For admissions into post-graduate (PG) programs

Candidates must have completed bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream from a recognized university or institutions and with minimum 50% marks. Percentage relaxation up to 5% is given to SC/ST candidates.

Ph.D.

Candidates with requisite qualifications working in research projects in Campus colleges/PG Centers and selected by a selection committee constituted/approved by the University are eligible to register for Part –Time Ph.D. They must have put in at least six months of service in the project. The project should have a valid tenure of at least two years from the date of submission of application by the candidate.

For admission into Ph.D. program under Extramural category, there should be an Internal Guide (Principal guide) recognized by the A.U. in the recognized research institution where the candidate is working. In addition to the Internal Guide, a faculty member eligible to guide research from within the concerned Department of Andhra University or its PG Centers has to be included as an External Guide.

Distance MBA

The university offers 2 year executive MBA and 3 year MBA program with specializations in finance, marketing, HR and hospital administration.

Eligibility

Candidate should have passed any bachelor’s degree other than BFA and BA(OL) with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC). Candidate should have studied maths at SSC/intermediate level. Candidates with professional degree like BE / B.Tech / B.Pharm / Medicine / Law /
CA/ ICWA / ACS / AMIE / AIETE are also eligible.

For executive MBA, candidate needs to have at least 2 years of work experience.

Entrance Test

All candidates will have to appear for ICET or entrance test conducted by the university. Admission will be on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test.

Fee Structure

Total course fee for Distance MBA by Andhra University is Rs. 35,000/- of which Rs.18,000/- should be paid at the time of admission. Rs.12,000/- in should be paid in second year and Rs.5,000/- in the third year.

Last date to apply for the Andhra University distance MBA program is 7-August-2019. Last date to apply with fine of Rs.300 is 16-Aug-2019.
